This can occur for two reasons:
Firstly, if the backing paper is not released cold this will cause the Toner to lift with the backing paper. The backing sheet must be released cold.
Secondly, after the pressing process is complete it is important that the garment is kept as flat as possible if moved off the heat press to cool. If the edges of the backing paper lift this can cause the toner to lift with the backing paper due to this area lifting before being cold – moving the garment carefully keeping the transfer as flat as possible will resolve this problem.
