Costing White And Metallic Ink Use

Modified on Mon, 12 Aug at 10:37 AM

Please note this guide was published for Versaworks dual but these notes are relevant to some late versions of Roland Versaworks.

Firstly, set the job settings as you wish in order to print colours as metallic or white. Then Select the job in the queue and RIP the job, (using the cogs button bellow the queue). Once RIPed, go into the Job Log (VIEW > JOB LOG)

As highlighted above, this shows the total ink estimation for the job. Double clicking on the estimated figure (14.54 cc in the example above) will show the Detailed Job Log.

As highlighted in the image (left) the Detailed Job Log shows the ink use estimation split into different colours. The amount of metallic or white ink used can be viewed and costed as per the metallic or white ink estimation chart, available to download from our Technical Support website. The CMYK colours can be costed by deducting the amount of metallic or white ink used from the total amount of ink used. Once both the CMYK and Metallic or White inks have been costed they can be added together to give the total costing of ink used in that job.
