Epson Garment Creator and Digital Factory Compatibility

Modified on Wed, 15 May at 12:32 PM

While Epson Garment Creator is open it polls the F2xxx printer on a regular basis, which will cause communications errors if Digital Factory is printing to the Epson F2xxx at the same time as the poll.

The errors can be anything from individual print lines printing incorrectly across the page, to the printer aborting the print. The symptom of the printer error is not consistent and can appear to be any general related error which results in a corrupted or failed print job.

The only solution is to close Garment Creator prior to printing to the Epson Fxxx from Digital Factory.

Digital Factory does not poll the printer unless the user instructs it for information like Ink levels, so there is no issue with having Digital Factory running while Garment Creator is printing.

USB Flash Drive Connected to the printer slows down print start time.

If there is a USB memory stick connected to the Epson Fxxx the printer will write the job data to the memory stick first. Only when all the job data has been sent and written to the USB stick will printing commence. The end result is that the time to begin printing appears to be longer than necessary.

Once the print job is complete it can be re-printed by pressing the print button on the printer. The job is re-printed from the USB stick and there is no need to resend the job from Digital Factory.

It is not possible to send another job from Digital Factory until the job is cancelled on the Epson Fxxx using the rubbish bin button on the front panel.

The general recommendation is don’t use a USB stick connected to the F2000 while printing from Digital Factory, unless the ability for re-printing the job from the USB stick is desired. Note that it is still possible send a re-print from Digital Factory.
